Saturday, June 19th – Cleveland Council of Black Nurses presents “The Annual Mary C. Thompson Workshop & Scholarship Luncheon: ‘Mental Health in Minorities: Living Beyond the Diagnosis.” The keynote speaker for the event was Toni Johnson, MD (Department of Psychiatry, MetroHealth Medical Center).

A number of community leaders were in attendance including Councilman Zach Reed.

Fred G Entertainment & Beckham’s B&M Barbecue presented the sounds of Frankie Beverly & Maze, Zapp, and more at the State Theatre. A number of people were in attendance for the funk and r&b showcase including Greg Beckham (B&M), PJ Jones, Cannonball, Zdenko Zovkic (XO Restaurant), and many others.

Dr. Charles Modlin and Cleveland Clinic held their 8th Annual Minority Men’s Health Fair at Glickman Tower on Cleveland Clinic Main Campus. A number of local leaders and professionals were in attendance including Ron Kisner, Councilman Nathaniel Martin (East Cleveland), Sharon Reed (19 Action News), Aldonis Grimes (Fatherhood Initiative), Campy Russell, Danielle Goodwin (Huron Hospital), Angela Bailey (Taussig Cancer Institute), and more.

Beech Street PR, Enya PR, The Unit Band and Bangs Salon will hold a fundraising effort for Denzel at 7 p.m. Sunday, March 21 at Allure, 75 Public Square. For just $10 you could help change a young scholars life.

Robin Thicke presented a special evening of his soulful and sultry tunes at the House of Blues. His plus hour long set kept the packed crowd’s full attention, even demanding an encore performance at the night’s end.
